Inspired by the explosive theoretical writings of Antonin Artaud in “The Theatre and Its Double,” the 2006-07 Theatre 3 Company embarked on an artistic voyage exploring the classic French Surrealist film “Un Chien Andalou” by Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel. “Double Negative” translates the radical cinematic innovations of this groundbreaking Surrealist film into a contemporary vocabulary for the stage—simultaneously dream-like and viscerally immediate.
